On Saturday the President announced his nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the SCOTUS. His decision was something many people were looking forward to and it also pleased many people. Even CNN had only good things to say about Barrett and her family. Now the whole nation awaits for her approval so that years of positive change can begin.

Amy Coney Barrett is a lawyer and serves in the U.S. Court of Appeals. The Notre Dame Graduate is a devout catholic and defender of human rights. Her career reflects her conservative values especially in issues concerning abortion, second amendment issues, immigration and health care. Justice Barrett also served as an associate professor at George Washington University.This is a big threat to leftist and democrats in the nation because her vote can cause great change in the nation in favor of conservatives. Everything about her makes her the perfect nominee for Republicans. Her youth also means that decades of decisions will help and influence the United States.

Before Justice Kavanaugh, the supreme court was always flip-flopping on issues. After a majority was decided, decisions have become more consistent to a conservative mind-set. If Justice Barrett is confirmed then a 6-3 majority will be in place. Everyone’s hopes are high including the Presidents because of the Republican Senate majority, but the trouble Justice Kavanaugh went through is something to expect again.

Amy Coney Barrett has always been a defender of the law and Constitution, serving as a clerk for Justice Scalia made her liked by many people. Her beautiful and diverse family shows her true nature and strength. She has 7 children, 2 of which were adopted from Haiti; her husband is also a Notre Dame Graduate and was a U.S. Attorney for over a decade.
