CNN’s Don Lemon Urges Democrats to Take Action Against Wisconsin Riots After Biden Drops in the Polls

The shooting of Jacob Blake has sparked intense protesting and rioting in Kenosha Wisconsin. Among the aftermath includes a Wisconsin car dealership burned to ruble. Multiple small businesses were also looted and burned.

Great to see “Peaceful” Protesting

Unsurprisingly, many have condemned the violence and rioting seen in Wisconsin. Even CNN anchor Don Lemon stated this week that the rioting has to stop.” He further clarified that “[the rioting is] showing up in the polling. It’s showing up in focus groups. It is the only thing right now that is sticking.” Lemon was of course referring to the Democrats in his statements.

Democrats Losing their Advantage

Lemon’s reasons behind his call to action reflect the concerns of many Democratic leaders and their supporters. The recent Democratic National Convention failed to draw in major support from Democratic voters or leaning Democrats. In addition, recent polls are showing a narrowing gap between Presidential Nominee Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.

Furthermore, approval for Trump has also increased. The newest Zogby Analytics Poll found that Trump’s job approval rating has increased to 52%. This represents his best job approval on record. Trump has also gained greater support from minority groups, including African Americans, Asians, and Hispanics.

Of course, it isn’t just the failure of the DNC that Democrats have to worry about. Many Americans are getting tired of the senseless looting and violence happening across US cities. Yahoo News reported that Democrats are worried of losing their edge in swing states following the Wisconsin unrest. Trump and other Republicans have called out many Democratic city and state leaders, who have not only caved into the demand for defunding the police but also allowed the violence to continue.

These failures are worrying Democratic officials. Even weeks after, the examples of Seattle, Portland, and Chicago continue to affect views on the handling of the crises by the Democratic party.

Ignoring the fact that it took weeks for the mainstream media to comment on the effects of the rioting, Don Lemon is right in his commentary. The rioting and violence is negatively impacting Democrats and making a close presidential race.
