The virtual opening night for the Democratic National Convention averaged viewers from CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN totaled 18.68 million viewers which is a 28% decrease from the opening night in 2016.
The New York Post says a decline was to be expected because many viewers opt to view through streaming services which isn’t factored into standard TV ratings.
In 2016, the six main television programs had a combined number of 25 million viewers, this year they reached a total of 19 million during the 10 o’clock hour.
Maybe a “red pill” is to blame for this drop in viewers this year? Time will tell, and we’ll find out November 3rd. #Trump2020
