Elon Musk has been busy in 2020. His launching of SpaceX saw the first privately owned rocket sent into space on American soil. Tesla stocks have been through the roof. Elon himself has claimed to have taken “the red pill” and has begun to show more consertive ideas. It seems, he’s not done yet. He has recently issued a statement on Twitter revealing that big news is coming in August from his company Neuralink.
Neuralink’s website states that their product seems to “…hold promise for the restoration of sensory and motor functions and treatment of neurological disorders.”
In short, they are creating a microchip that will help with, if not cure, disorders such as anxiety and depression. There is even talk of helping those with vision impairment and paralysis. The most interesting of all is the way they plan to help the human brain keep up with AI technology. Possibly even the capability of interacting with technology simply by thinking.
“It could, in principle fix anything that’s wrong with the brain,”
He recently had an interview with the Joe Rogan podcast where he stated that there was a possibility of the neurochip being ready for human trial within the year. He stated that there is still a lot to do, but it looks promising. They have already experimented and successfully used it on rats.
Come August 28, we will have an update from the company that was founded in 2016. There’s no telling what could be revealed.
