Ilhan Omar has never been quiet about her disdain for America. More recently, it seems, she’s gotten even louder. At a rally, following the horrific murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer, Omar called for the complete dismantling of the Minneapolis Police Department. Stating it was a “cancer” and it is “rotten to the root”.
In the last few days, Omar has radically and aggressively called for the dismantling of not only the police departments in America but of the political and economic systems in place in the U.S. today. She’s calling for the elimination of the very system that allowed her to become a Congresswoman in a country she says she hates so much. Anywhere else in the world like Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, or her home country of Somalia, that would be an impossible dream. Only in America can you freely speak of the hate you have for this country and want to erase what generations have sacrificially built for your well-being all the while still benefitting from the systems you claim are the problem.
Members of “The Squad” introduced a bill to defund the police as well as eliminating ICE and giving reparations to those abused by the criminal justice system. Omar said, “as long as our economy and political systems prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will perpetuate this inequality. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it.”
Ilhan Omar seems to forget that Capitalism is the most equal opportunity system out there. Socialism and Communism cannot do what Capitalism does. In fact, Socialism and Communism are designed to keep people in bondage while Capitalism sets them free, providing every opportunity and resource they could ever imagine. Capitalism is designed for the freedom and prosperity of the individual, giving the citizen self-empowerment, control, and free-will. Socialism and Communism only promote the prosperity of the country, which means the prosperity of those in power, and not the citizen, keeping them eternally enslaved.
The Squad Proposes A Bill
The BREATHE act details that federal funds to police departments and federal agencies would be severely reduced and diverted to pay for health care, education, and environmental housing programs. It also includes getting rid of things “The Squad” claims target minority communities-things like ankle monitors. They seem to forget those ankle monitors are not strictly a people of color tool. Criminals of all races have to wear them if the court deems it fit. More alarming, the bill, if passed, would also repeal laws that criminalize illegal immigration. So this would just be another step forward to the Democrats dream of an “open-border-free-immigration-for-all-utopia”.
In an interview with Fox News’ Dana Perino on “The Daily Briefing”, Aayan Hirsi Ali, who, like Omar, immigrated from Somalia, said that she would like to ask Omar “why flee from Mogadishu, why flee from anarchy, why flee from oppression — and then come to the United States and do all your best to turn Minnesota and the U.S. into Mogadishu?”
Watch the interview here:
Ali is a Somalia-born Dutch-American activist who fights to keep America from turning into the country she fled from in the early 1990s. It’s interesting to see two women with similar backgrounds come to the same beautiful & free country, and one tries to completely rip it apart and the other fighting to preserve the very principles and foundation of the country that gave them the same freedom and opportunities.
Ilhan Omar and Democrats alike who have been calling for the dismembering of the police system don’t realize that such an action would severely hurt the people they claim they want to protect. What about all the single moms who don’t have any other form of protection? What about the officers dedicated to fighting crimes against children? What about the little boy who gets lost and can’t find the only person, who isn’t his parents, he knows he can trust, a police officer because there aren’t any? What about all the people dealing with stalkers and domestic violence? What about the women and men who get raped? What about all the people kidnapped every year? What about all those people? If the police cease to exist then single moms will be on their own, children will never get justice, the boy will never be found, the innocent will continue to be abused, the women will repeatedly be hurt, and the people will never be found? What about all of them? Do their lives matter too?
Now, we’re not saying that every officer is a saint or that there couldn’t be improvements made. To say that all cops are bad is just as terrible as saying all black people are thugs, which neither are true. But if we all truly want change, then the police departments need more funding so they can have more resources and training. Without that funding, the system of “police brutality” that Democrats claim exists will only get worse.
Tim Ballard breaks down how vitally important the police are to every community. How police are the defenders of the defenseless and the fighters of injustice. Take a look.
