“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.”

In a time where the media shines the light brightest where the actions are darkest, Americans are in need of a unifying message. The media will have you believing that we are in an all out war between the Whites and the Blacks on our own soil. The media loves the division between me, a conservative, and anyone on the left. It is time for us, as citizens of the UNITED States of America, to say to hell with your division and hate! Do not point to my skin color for any reason. I am an American and whether someone is darker or lighter than me, they are my brother/sister.

This is a time when by nearly a unanimous opinion, we all agree on the specific situation as Americans. George Floyd did not deserve to die and justice must be served to those involved in his death.

A House Divided Against Itself

How long can we as a nation survive if we continue on the path of hating each other because one of us supports Donald Trump and the other supports Joe Biden? Is it really so bad that we cannot agree on anything? Do we have to simply throw “You’re racist” at anyone who supports Donald Trump because a cop killed a handcuffed American? Do we have to call anyone who supports Joe Biden a moron simply because Joe Biden forgets things often? Some words from Jesus Christ himself teach us what can happen if we do not unite:

Mark 3

24And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

America is one giant house and right now we are divided against ourselves. The media wants to drive that division even deeper and deeper. The result of this division is going to be the destruction of a nation if we do not mend this divide. Whether you are black, brown or white, we are all Americans and we can drive out this hate and division led by our own media if we stop with the cheap attacks on each other.

Antifa and Black Lives Matter

It seems like the Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters have forgotten the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. The events following the horrific death of George Floyd are proving to be counterproductive as the looters and rioters across the country destroy cities. Is our solution to this to hurt even more people? How does this help anyone? How does this heal the divide between us as a nation? If black lives matter to us then why are we okay with destroying their businesses and communities? Why are prominent figures so loud at the death of George Floyd but they’re silent as black owned businesses are up in flames?

The biggest change that needs to occur is the left must stop with playing the race card every single election cycle. It seems like every 4 years I am being called a racist again simply because I am white. Does this provide anything useful to us as Americans? Didn’t Martin Luther King Jr. say that we should judge people by the content of their character? How can we unite as a nation if all we see in people is their skin color?

Listen to the Mayor of Atlanta

May we all remember the words of Martin Luther King Junior, “The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate… Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
